Customer Success Story: Administrative Center of Bahia

    In Brazil’s fourth most populous state of Bahia, the Administrative Center of Bahia (CAB) employs 15,000 employees spread across 22 sites. To address their changing needs and aging communication systems, the CAB began a strategic initiative to modernize their entire telecommunications infrastructure. The goals of the initiative included increasing the total number of extensions; introducing advanced communications and mobility options to enable employees to be more responsive; and implementing new servers that would support new IP extensions as well as existing digital extensions.

    After assessing several providers, the CAB announced that they had selected Mitel to modernize their telephone and communications network. The CAB cited best pricing, SIP phone installation capability and no service disruption among the top reasons they chose Mitel.

    The initiative began by replacing the CAB’s existing system with Mitel’s MX-ONE communication server, providing CAB employees access to a wide range of new features. The system also included 8,648 analog extensions, 2,615 digital extensions, 2,379 IP extensions and Solidus eCare multimedia contact center for three sites.

    Whether at their desks, working remotely, hot desking or on the move, CAB employees are now able to communicate with each other more effectively and productively, improving the services they offer to local residents. The CAB’s network administrators enjoy major benefits from having a centralized solution with a consistent approach across all departments while maintaining the ability to personalize options for each user. Each agency also has access to their specific call reports, as well as to their billing and management applications.
