Customer Success Story: Electrolux
Electrolux, the world's second-largest appliance maker by sales, is a Swedish multinational company that manufactures appliances for household and professional use. Electrolux has over 60,000 employees and sells their products in more than 150 markets. The largest of these markets are Europe, North America and Latin America. In Brazil, the company has four factories—two in Curitiba, one in São Carlos and one in Manaus.
Electrolux Brazil had purchased their previous communication system, the MD-110 voice platform, from Aastra. But over time, the company’s needs evolved. So Electrolux set out to find a modern communication system that could meet their requirements, reduce their business communication costs, and connect their 15 previously disconnected offices in Brazil.
Electrolux considered several business communication providers, but ultimately chose Mitel for several reasons—their confidence in the company; product quality; ability to easily integrate their systems via IP; and additional cost savings from being able to leverage their existing technology. They found many advantages in Mitel’s MX-ONE platform, including the fact that migration could be done without stopping the equipment.
Electrolux chose a robust package of integrated communication systems, including MX-ONE communication servers for 15 sites in Brazil totaling 4,200 extensions, AMC (collaboration), Solidus eCare (contact center) and Blustar (desktop media phones). They also leveraged Mitel Professional Services to help integrate the contact center and phone system with their legacy information systems, including CRM, databases and operational systems.
Benefits for Electrolux have included:
- Cost savings achieved by moving to voice over IP
- Saving on migration cost to MX-ONE since they reused existing digital handsets
- Ease of migrating to the new system alleviated costs and administration time
- Improved collaboration between employees and offices
Their implementation went so well that Electrolux also deployed BluStar desktop media phones in their sales showrooms. And for mobile users, they rolled out Mitel AMC (mobile communication client) to integrate employee mobile devices into the larger communication system.
