The Company

The Hotel Breidenbacher Hof in Düsseldorf is considered one of the most luxurious hotels in the whole of Germany. The hotel was closed in 1999 due to its complete refurbishment and ten years later it is celebrating its reopening with a new building.The hotel has 95 rooms and suites with first class fixtures and fittings andaccommodates guests from around the world. The hotel's own gymnasium, the "1806" restaurant, a bar andcigar lounge form just a small part of the luxurious ambience. The hotel also boasts elegant brand name boutiques offering a personal shopping assistantand of course the latest technology.

The Challenge

The hotel had to be completely re-cabled and they decided against copper leads and opted for glass fiber instead. As a result this meant that no analogue telephones could be implemented. Every room additionally has seven network connections, that include three telephone connections, internet connections and in some cases a Wireless network; the communication alone took up a large portion of the connections. It was vital that both the guests and the hotel’s staff should be provided with reliable and flexible communication solutions which should improve and increase productivity and operability. In addition a solution must be found which permits rapid contacting and call forwarding between the administration and guests.
