Wayne State College
Wayne State Blazes Trail with IP Convergence
Wayne State College is dedicated to freedom of inquiry, excellence in teaching and learning, and regional service and development. Offering affordable undergraduate and graduate programs, the college prepares students for careers, advanced study, and civic involvement. Wayne State College boasts students from 32 states and 17 countries. Its five most popular undergraduate majors are business administration, elementary education, criminal justice, pre-professional, and sport management.
The problem for Wayne State College was an outdated and costly communications system that needed to be expensively upgraded or replaced.
Wayne State College chose two resilient Mitel® 3300 IP Communications Platforms (ICPs) with standard unified messaging, automatic call distribution (ACD), Mitel Enterprise Manager, and 550 Mitel IP phones, including Mitel Navigator®. They also added a redundant Mitel SX-2000® LIGHT for the dormitory, allowing the college to migrate to a full IP platform at a pace that is comfortable to them.
