Onstream
Onstream Reduces Total Cost of Ownership With Mitel
Company
Onstream is a local government owned corporation, created in 2009 by the Tasmanian state government to efficiently provide IT infrastructure and the business services needed by Southern Water, Cradle Mountain Water, and Ben Lomond Water.
Challenge
Operating across a wide geographic region, keeping a tight lid on running costs while having the flexibility to adapt quickly to changing needs.
Evaluation
When presented with the need to relocate an office to a greenfield site in 2009, Onstream decided to test the waters with Mitel’s IP based voice implementation, rather than continue with their existing solution. Based on our current measured savings, we estimate that over a 3 year period our Mitel solution will have a 30% lower total cost of ownership than the system it replaced.

Why Mitel
The flexibility of the Mitel solution allows capabilities to be extended only where they are needed, as budget becomes available. New phone extensions and handsets can be deployed inexpensively, without waiting for a technician to visit a remote office location.
