Mitel(R) (Nasdaq:MITL), a leading provider of unified communications software solutions, and Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions (ECS), a business segment of Arrow Electronics Inc. and a leading IT distributor and provider of VMware(R) solutions in Europe, have announced a distribution agreement that will continue the expansion of Mitel's IT software distribution network.
Mitel continues to focus on developing channel networks, such as IT distributors and software solution providers, with a strong focus on business software integration, virtualisation, cloud computing competencies and associated service capabilities. Unified Communications is included as another practise in their IT offerings to help their clients meet their business objectives.
The agreement with Arrow ECS will help in the recruitment and development of new Mitel authorizedPARTNERs in France supporting this evolution. Arrow ECS's resellers who are already VMware partners will be able to take advantage of a specific European certification: "Mitel Virtual Solutions Specialist Partner."
"We are very happy to welcome Arrow ECS amongst our distributors in France. The arrival of Arrow ECS reinforces our development strategy and compliments our existing distributors' approach. Arrow ECS and Mitel share important synergies in the area of software solution delivery, including virtualisation. Together, we will be able to appropriately address the increasing needs of businesses in this sector," says Lionel Hovsepian, sales director for Southern and Eastern Europe at Mitel.
"Mitel's offer rounds off our catalogue of voice, data, and video convergence solutions in an ideal way," explains Jean-Loup Desamaison-Cognet, vice president Southern Europe at Arrow ECS. "It is important for us to work with a supplier coming from the IP world that wants to diversify in a way complimentary to ours. Mitel's latest technological alliances with VMware, Oracle(R) and Research in Motion(R) (RIM) have all proved to be successful."
Mitel's strategy has moved away from physical equipment in order to concentrate on the added value that new software developments offer to businesses. In order to do so, Mitel leans on technologically strong partnerships, amongst which are:
-- VMware for call server virtualisation and communication applications -- Research in Motion (RIM) for the development of Blackberry applications -- Microsoft for the interoperability of Microsoft Office Communications Server -- Oracle for desktop virtualisation
