Prominent industry figure is latest recruit to Mitel's EMEA and APAC management team to help company further accelerate as customer move to the cloud
Mitel® (Nasdaq:MITL) (TSX:MNW), a global leader in business communications, today announced the appointment of David Silke as Vice President of International Marketing. Silke will work across the EMEA and APAC markets, which compose Mitel’s international regions, creating new Mitel customer engagement programs that complement the company’s evolving go-to-market structure.
Silke’s appointment is the latest in a series of recent executive additions to Mitel’s APAC and EMEA management team, which began with the appointment of industry veteran Jeremy Butt to lead Mitel’s international business operations. Other hires include Richard Roberts as Vice President of UK and Ireland and EMEA Channels; Mark Duff as Vice President of International Sales Engineering and Professional Services; and Denise Bryant as Distribution Director for EMEA. Silke will work alongside these colleagues to grow market share, as customers around the world continue to move to the cloud.
Silke brings to his new role extensive experience from a 22-year career in the technology industry. He joins Mitel from Juniper Networks where he most recently led the company’s global marketing campaigns. Previously he spearheaded EMEA and APAC marketing programs for organizations including Brocade and Nortel, where he first worked in the unified communications and collaboration space.
Based in the UK, Silke is a member of Jeremy Butt’s cabinet.
“David’s experience will be a real asset as we look to strengthen our market leader position in EMEA and grow our footprint in APAC,” said Jeremy Butt, Senior Vice President of International, Mitel. “David’s track record of taking a 360-business approach to marketing, while remaining focused on the needs of the sales organization, is closely aligned with our strategy and our customers’ growing desire to move to the cloud. We have invested in creating a highly experienced leadership team for our international region, which is really driving growth, and David adds another very valuable string to this bow.”
“Demand for cloud-enabled communications and collaboration solutions is sky-rocketing as they can both increase productivity and reduce costs. Mitel is in an incredibly strong position to help its customers make the most of this opportunity. Marketing plays a key role in driving Mitel’s growth and will help secure the company’s long-term success,” said David Silke, Vice President of International Marketing, Mitel.
