Mitel Showcases Freedom Architecture at Russia's Largest International Telecoms Exhibition

May 03, 2012

Mitel (Nasdsaq:MITL), a leading provider of Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) software solutions, is exhibiting Mitel's virtual Communications Director software (vMCD), and its latest Applications Suite (MAS 4.0) with full unified communications and collaboration, at Russia's largest telecommunications and technology event, SviazExpocomm 2012. Mitel joins a number of other leading hi-tech companies at the event, brought together by The Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Innovation, in partnership with the Canadian Embassy in Moscow.

The event, now in its 24th year, brings together over 600 exhibitors from more than 25 countries, and is considered the most prestigious telecommunications event in Russia, the CIS and Eastern Europe.

Alex Volynsky, head of the newly established representative office in Moscow, selling and supporting Mitel's portfolio under license and integrating value-added applications from companies affiliated with Wesley Clover International Corporation commented, "The market for UC in Russia, the CIS and Eastern Europe is growing rapidly and events like SviazExpocomm are critical to ensuring companies in these regions understand the key role that Mitel can play in their communications strategy."

Organisations in Russia and the CIS are increasingly using ICT to increase market share and improve their operating efficiencies. Mitel can play a central role in this with its suite of unified communications solutions based on the popular Mitel Freedom Architecture.

Canadian Ambassador to Russia, John C. Sloan commented, "The Russian telecom market, amongst the largest in the world, continues to grow and develop rapidly and remains a high prospect, yet little explored, market for Canadian companies in the ICT sector. Mitel, one of the leaders in this area, is a great example of a well-established Canadian company that has been active and successful in the Russian market and is a great promoter of Canadian expertise and know how around the world, including in Russia. Their participation in the Ontario mission to SviazExpocomm will certainly contribute to raising the profile of Canadian ICT industry in Russia."

Vitaly Paroshyn, Area Director for Eastern and Southeast Europe International Trade Branch of the Ministry of Economic Development and Innovation, Ontario, commented, "We invited Mitel to participate in the Ontario-Canada ICT Mission because we recognise the significance of unified communications in the workplace, and Mitel is a market leader in this field. Bringing together Mitel and other market leaders in ICT we are in a position to showcase Canada's expertise in this arena to a rapidly developing market."

The Mitel Affiliates program is focused on the advancement of a new generation of technology companies.
