    Most businesses have a disaster recovery plan for their data systems, but many don’t have one for their phones. Redundancy with on premise systems is complicated and expensive, so a lot of companies just don’t do it and learn to regret it after disaster strikes.

    The cloud-based model provides an embedded continuity plan that’s built into your implementation, not just a bolted on as an afterthought.   In fact there are two types of DR plans; loss of connectivity and inability to get into the office.  While clients and prospects may assume that a bounced email is a technical glitch, they tend to regard a fast busy signal as a sign that a company has gone out of business. Cloud-based solutions allow you to protect your business’s voice just like your protect the integrity of your networks.

    System hardware resides on-site and may become in accessible to your employees in the event of an emergency, weather event or building access problem. System hardware resides in our multiple, secure data centers. Access is not impacted by an event at your site. If one client location becomes inaccessible, calls can be automatically directed to another location, remote workers or mobile phones.
    Loss of power at your location causes phone system downtime and busy signals. Loss of power at your location has no impact on phone system operation. Even if desk phones loose power, voicemail will work normally and calls can be forwarded to another location or mobile phones. Each server/appliance in our data center utilizes an Automated Transfer Switch (ATS) so that the generator may provide temporary electric power if the utility source fails.
    All calls are dependent on the availability of one public switched network carrier. M5 utilizes multiple carriers. In the event that one suffers failure or degradation, calls are immediately directed to another carrier.
    Phone system data, audio recordings and voicemail messages are stored at the client location and can be destroyed in the event of a fire,   flood or other onsite disaster. Production data is stored in our secure data centers. Data backups are created nightly and sent to remote, state of the art data storage facilities.
