    Peoria Unified School District #11 (PUSD) is a school district headquartered in Glendale, Arizona, United States, which provides both primary and secondary education. With 40 schools, it is the third largest school district in Arizona. Peoria Unified School District #11, which was founded in 1889, covers 49 square miles (127 km2).

    In 2014 when their legacy Nortel phone system was at the end of life and support, they turned to Trans-West Network Solutions, one of Mitel’s biggest partners in Arizona. Peoria Unified School District was looking for a reliable solution that could be implemented flawlessly by a knowledgeable partner with an excellent service record and a customer support staff second to none. Their requirement for this solution also included a guaranteed 99.999% uptime. The solution also required that the installation take place during the school year with no downtime for any of the 40 plus schools and administrative facilities.

    After reviewing many options, they selected Mitel solutions because of the competitive pricing and they were impressed with the demonstration and the features that Mitel solutions offered. “We really enjoyed working with Transwest because they exceeded our expectations,” explains Ed Martin, telecommunications supervisor at Peoria Unified School District.

    They currently have 1500 Mitel licenses which include Mitel 3300s, MiCollab and Nupoint messaging. With 860 users now using MiCollab the school district is benefiting from improved communications among their teachers and staff. When they want to communicate with each other they no longer have to depend on just phone calls but can leverage presence and chat, which has improved their productivity.
