How ShoreTel Celebrated the NASDAQ Opening Bell Ceremony

When I joined ShoreTel last July as a new college graduate, I knew that it would be an exciting job. Yet in August, when ShoreTel officially launched Connect, it was more exciting than I anticipated.

As part of the launch of ShoreTel Connect, ShoreTel rang the NASDAQ bell in New York City and hosted a NASDAQ viewing party on August 18, 2015. Employees at all ShoreTel offices across country and even the globe got to celebrate and watch this momentous event.

ShoreTel celebrates ShoreTel ConnectAt our corporate headquarters in Sunnyvale, the Human Resources team hosted a pancake breakfast. Everyone from the HR team came in early to prepare for the morning’s festivities, including me. We lined tables with numerous fixings to add to homemade pancakes. Nearly the entire office showed up for our pancakes. I believe there was something endearing about seeing coworkers cook for our colleagues in the office and that it brought everyone together.

After the pancake feast finished, our entire Sunnyvale office gathered together to enjoy the recorded NASDAQ viewing, which announced to the world ShoreTel Connect. There were quite a few Sunnyvale representatives from different departments that traveled to NYC for the Connect announcement.  We saw them on TV and some of them sent pictures of tweets and employee images that were projected on the NASDAQ tower screen throughout the morning.

It was exciting to celebrate the milestone with my peers while we watched 50 employees get the thrilling chance to attend the event themselves.  There was a large amount of ShoreTel pride that day. Our office was adorned in orange balloons and many wore ShoreTel orange apparel to work. I could feel the buzz in the air as ShoreTel employees congregated to watch their cohorts open the market. The crowded room was filled with wide-eyes and a sense of openness that made me happy to be a part of such a connected team. To me, this celebration represented a milestone at ShoreTel and reminded me of all the positive things to come.
