ShoreTel and HP Networking Partner for Education at TIE Conference

The 27th Annual 2013 TIE (Technology & Innovation in Education) Conference K-12 concludes Tuesday in Rapid City, S.D., after bringing together about 1,300 administrators, teachers, computer coordinators, librarians, and media specialists from across South Dakota and neighboring states.

The conference also attracted innovative and K-12 friendly technology companies, including ShoreTel, Hewlett-Packard, Ruckus Wireless, AirWatch, and others. HP and ShoreTel co-exhibited at the conference, which provides valuable resources to educators, including teaching materials, instructional practices, and technology applications.

TIE is an affiliate of ISTE (The International Society for Technology in Education), which focuses on improving learning and teaching by advancing the effective use of technology in K–12 and teacher education, and represents more than 100,000 education leaders throughout the world.

Both HP and ShoreTel seek to enhance the manner in which education participants communicate, work, and learn together. To this end, they are committed to partnering with ISTE affiliate organizations to increase the understanding in just how simple and affordable it is to empower K-12 institutions with best-of-breed Unified Communications and Collaboration (UC&C) solutions, eliminating unnecessary complexities that are likely to impede efficiency.

Why is this important? Because the education sector is no different than any other company when it comes to its fundamental need to boost productivity and increase flexibility for faster response/delivery times and elevating productivity by real-time engagement, whether it be in the form of scheduling meetings, executing lesson plans, or engaging in online learning/testing activities.

According to research from IDG on Enterprise 2012 Unified Communication and Collaboration, education is one of the three top industries that will see the most growth in UC&C implementing over the next three years as the K-12 sector is steadily increasing its ties with UC&C across classrooms, dorm rooms, and administrative offices.
