ShoreTel Celebrates 10th Anniversary in Australia; Awarded Telecommunications Vendor of the Year 2016

    At a ceremony attended last month by the Australian IT Channel in Sydney, ShoreTel proudly accepted an award for Telecommunications Vendor of the Year at the ARN ICT Industry Awards 2016.

    ShoreTel was recognised for its commitment to a 100 percent indirect channel strategy and the expansion of its channel engagement model with the launch of its first local cloud offering, ShoreTel Hosted Voice.

    Accepting the award on behalf of ShoreTel was Richard Ruth, client sales director of Australia & New Zealand.

    “Receiving this accolade for our contribution to the Australian telecommunications industry is an honour,” said Ruth. “Our successes are reflective of our strong channel engagement and the products and services we bring to market.”

    2016 also marks ShoreTel’s tenth year in Australia, with the appointment of its first ANZ distributor, Connector Systems, in April 2006 and ShoreTel’s first major IP telephony deployment. Financial advisory firm, Ferrier Hodgson, rolled out ShoreTel across 130 users in 2006, implemented by ShoreTel’s first Australian partner PTS Communications. Ten years on, Ferrier Hodgson remains a loyal ShoreTel customer today and continues to be supported by PTS Communications. Globally, ShoreTel recently celebrated its 20th anniversary since inception.

    2016 was a significant growth year for ShoreTel Australia including noteworthy increases in its business, its local headcount and Australian partner numbers. ShoreTel expanded its physical presence across the eastern seaboard with offices in Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne. The company has also established a local engineering and technical support centre to cater for the growth in its cloud communications business.

Based in Singapore, Gillant leads ShoreTel’s go-to-market strategy across Asia Pacific managing the sales, channels, marketing and sales operations for the region.
