ShoreTel Unified Communications Brings Datacard’s Asia Pacific Business Closer

Datacard Group is a privately-held US company and the driving force in virtually every major card program around the world. With annual revenues of approximately US$400 million and over 1400 employees worldwide, the company has a service and support network that covers more than 120 countries with operations across three major regions. Datacard’s secure ID and card personalization solutions are used to issue millions of financial cards and identification documents each day.

Datacard decided to replace an aging telephony system with a global ShoreTel Unified Communications and Enterprise Contact Center platform. For Datacard Asia-Pacific, the company deployed 900 ShoreTel phones along with switches and voice servers, and ShoreTel Enterprise Contact Center.

The benefits Datacard Asia-Pacific has seen so far include:

    • Six months ROI from cost savings in calls between regional offices

    • UC application providing cost justification for network upgrade

    • Productivity gains and organizational culture improvements

    • Audio conferencing cost savings

    • Improved regional and global communications

“The ShoreTel platform has facilitated the productivity of the organization in all sorts of ways,” said Angus McDougall, regional vice president, Asia Pacific, Datacard. “It’s made training very easy, and also it’s been a very systematic and intuitive system to learn. I like the connectivity between our laptops and the system - so you don’t have to remember numbers.”
