ShoreTel Wins XCellence Award at Midsize Enterprise Summit East Conference

ShoreTel this week captured a prestigious XCellence Award at the Midsize Enterprise Summit (MES) East 2013 in Chicago for Best Execution of a Midmarket IT Solution, designated by more than 200 CIOs in attendance.

The CIOs were briefed on and watched demonstrations of ShoreTel Mobility and ShoreTel Conferencing bridge before awarding ShoreTel the prize, said Rick Boyd, ShoreTel’s vice president of sales for major accounts.

The criteria for the Best Execution of a Midmarket IT Solution award comprised the following:

    • Vendor presents technology specifically focused on the midmarket
    • Vendor was able to articulate how their product or service solves a real business need
    • Product or service creates new business opportunities for our business
    • Product or service contributes to solving real business technology needs
    • There is a strong market opportunity for this product

Boyd said ShoreTel executives used iPads and iPhones to show and share slide show demonstrations without using a PC and to access a conference remotely.

“One of our themes (during the demonstration) was, ‘Empower your people to empower themselves,” Boyd said. “And we are doing that with these two applications – ShoreTel Mobility and ShoreTel Conferencing bridge. We showed them tools to make their people more productive.”

More than 50 companies competed at the event, including Microsoft, IBM, Hewlett-Packard and NEC, Boyd said.

The MES East event, produced by XChange Events, uses the XCellence Awards to highlight the best products, services and programs presented throughout the MES East event as voted on by the IT decision-maker attendees.

“By winning the prestigious XCellence Awards, ShoreTel continues to demonstrate its commitment to understanding the unique needs of the midsize enterprise IT market,” a conference news release said.
