For Specialty Retailers, Valentine’s Day is about more than just Romance

    Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and romance is in the air! With only two days until February 14, no doubt those of us who celebrate the holiday have plans underway to show loved ones how much we care – whether it’s sending cards, giving flowers or presents or arranging a romantic dinner for two.

    For many, Valentine's Day is a time to celebrate romance. For specialty retailers like florists and chocolate makers, it's one of the busiest days of the year.  This year is no exception – the National Retail Federation is predicting spending for Valentine’s Day to reach $18.6 billion – an estimated $1 billion above the prediction for 2012.
