Congratulations James Druzbik, Vice President of IS, at Group 1 Automotive, who was recently named one of 2011 InformationWeek 500.
The InformationWeek 500 tracks the IT practices of the nation's most innovative IT organizations, providing a unique opportunity to understand and examine the business practices of these firms across core areas of operations, including, technology deployment, IT budgets, business-technology infrastructure, and IT strategies. Druzbik was recognized at the InformationWeek 500 Conference, Sept. 11-13, 2011, at the St. Regis Monarch Beach in Dana Point, California.
Fortune 500 company Group 1 Automotive is the fourth largest automotive dealership group in the United States; based in Houston, Group 1 had $5.5 billion in annual revenue in 2010. The company owns and operates 105 automotive dealerships, 134 franchises and 28 collision service centers throughout the U.S. and U.K. Through its dealerships, the company sells new and used cars and light trucks; arranges financing, vehicle service and insurance contracts; provides maintenance and repair services; and sells replacement parts.
Druzbik and Group 1 Automotive were recognized for their unified communications initiative, which was based on ShoreTel solutions. Group 1 charted a new path for the communication between all of their locations to maintain their focus on developing innovative approaches to the automotive industry.
