What do you want from your phone company?
Here is an interesting blog from Seth Godin - he's always saying that to win today, businesses have to be extraordinary - the Purple Cow is the one that starts a conversation. Therefore, your customers tell their friends and you spread like wildfire.
I generally agree with him. But here is an interesting contention of his that I would dispute:
He suggests that there is a conflict between perfectly executing and being remarkable, over the top, and creating a tell-your-friends-about it sort of experience.
At least for our business, I disagree:
The telecom industry is so bad,
the monopolies that control it execute perfectly so rarely,
that executing perfectly is in and of itself remarkable.
What do you think?
