Welcome back to our regular recap of Mitel's mentions in the news.
We’ve started 2025 with plenty of updates, including the rollout of Mitel’s new hybrid cloud solution with Zoom and an exciting new partnership with Genesys focused on large enterprises. We also break down coverage from a new comprehensive report on what’s driving Unified Communications (UC) modernization for mid-size to enterprise customers and add a couple of awards to the Mitel mantle.
Ok, let’s get to the news!

Building on last fall’s strategic partnership announcement, Mitel and Zoom are launching a unique hybrid cloud solution that integrates Zoom Workplace and Zoom AI Companion with Mitel’s flagship communications platforms, including its leading telephony solutions. Many publications covered the news, including this overview from Technology Magazine. It outlines why this new solution will attract organizations considering hybrid communication deployments.
Last month, we also shared more big partnership news. Mitel and Genesys are teaming up to simplify customer experience (CX) innovation. By working together, they offer larger enterprises advanced AI-powered experience orchestration capabilities with deep system integration and services expertise to reduce complexity and transform customer engagement. Channel Futures breaks down all the details and gets analyst reactions.
At the core of Mitel’s partnerships with Zoom and Genesys is the notion that one size doesn’t fit all in modern business communications. Research from Techaisle, released earlier in February, further supports this. It shows that 92% of mid-to-large enterprises consider hybrid deployments when modernizing their communication landscape for various reasons. UC Today analyzes the data from over 1,900 survey respondents and outlines why a hybrid strategy is essential for many organizations.
TechTarget’s IT channel website also covered the survey. Editor Simon Quicke examines the headline numbers and what they tell us about communications priorities in the modern workplace. The article also links the findings to Mitel’s recently released portfolio strategy, which focuses on the benefits of hybrid communications.
To start 2025, Mitel also announced new international sales leadership. Marco Landi is now the Group Vice President of International Sales, responsible for the EMEA and APAC regions. Sales Tech Star examines Landi’s extensive industry experience and why he is excited to join Mitel.
Award season isn’t just for Hollywood, so we are rolling out the red blue carpet to spotlight some well-deserved industry recognition. Frost & Sullivan has presented Mitel Critical Event Management (CEM) with a 2025 European Enabling Technology Leadership Award. Also, two Mitel leaders have been named 2025 CRN Channel Chiefs. Congrats to both Steve Loebrich and Steffen Kruger.
That’s it for this month! Remember, you can check out the Mitel newsroom anytime for the latest news.
