The Mitel User Group (MUG) is an independent, global, and customer-led community strategically aligned and financially supported by Mitel. MUG provides its nearly 10,000 members, consisting of customers, partners, and Mitel employees, with knowledge sharing and networking opportunities. The official global MUG community was founded in 2016, and the first annual virtual members-only event took place a year later. One could claim that MUG was ahead of the curve as far as virtual events go!
We are fresh from our sixth annual virtual event, where Mitel leaders and subject matter experts shared the latest updates with the end-user audience. The exhibit hall and training center was filled with members from 60 countries and yielded over 1,000 booth visits. Not only were we excited to provide the latest Mitel product and company updates during these engagements, but we are always eager to hear from our customers about what works well and where we need to improve.
Here is what we heard from our end-user customers at the event:
Randy Davis, VP, and CIO of Telecommunications, CGH Medical, and MUG Director
“CGH Medical chose Mitel over Avaya and Cisco through a key partner after evaluating different options to find out that Mitel’s portfolio, MiVoice Business, and Contact Center offerings were the most feature, function-rich, future-proof, and financially attractive solutions for them.”
“Mitel has a better product in many ways, so it was an easy decision for me. I thought the easy one would be Cisco, but I was wrong. It has been the right call.”
“Why the Mitel User Group? I get great feedback, and I get access to good information. You will be pleasantly surprised by the breadth of information at your fingertips if you only take the time to access it.”
Zach Jones, Assistant Director of Telecommunications, Binghamton University, and MUG Director
“At Binghamton University, my team supports about 20,000 users with their on and off-campus TV, security, voice services, and all physical connections on-campus needs. We were a Nortel user, and Mitel had a lower cost than the others, and the system is easy to use and maintain; it offers excellent capabilities and features. We’ve stayed [at Mitel] because it’s easy to use and easy to maintain.”
Cas Rangel, MUG Director
“Being part of the User Group has given me more opportunity to be involved with Mitel. Being part of the MUG mingles is great. I met someone from California, and we have collaborated and shared a lot of information.”
Bob Baddeley, MUG President
“My experiences [with MUG] have been perfect for me as a user, and it is ideal for Mitel. They can get feedback before they take a step too far and do something that is not good for the users. It works very well. There is good synergy between the User Group and Mitel – it is a great partnership.”
In addition to collecting customer feedback from our MUG members and annual event participants, Mitel UserVoice is another outlet where our customers can directly engage with our product development program to expand our offerings further. We’ve had over 2,000 suggestions and 18,000 votes this past year. Mitel leaders monitor and evaluate these suggestions closely and constantly, weighing what to prioritize and how we make changes and innovate based on what our customers say.
