There was a time when you might have been able to shrug off cloud communications as a phase or passing trend. But enterprise cloud usage is certainly no fad. It has officially gone mainstream, as large businesses across all industries are adopting cloud computing to realize big business benefits, including maximized communications; enhanced remote support; faster deployment; improved collaboration; and, of course, greater cost savings.
If you haven’t chosen to deploy a cloud model yet, you’re already missing out: 64 percent of enterprise cloud users report being satisfied with their current results from cloud initiatives, and 88 percent say that they expect to achieve greater benefits from cloud solutions in the future. Here’s what your large business is currently losing out on without the cloud:
More-flexible infrastructure: 82 percent of enterprise cloud buyers say that the cloud sufficiently met their flexible infrastructure objectives.
Faster (and smarter) decision making: 71 percent of enterprise cloud users say that after investing in the cloud, they were able to meet their market objectives more quickly.
Reduced provisioning time: With a workforce that can be spread out across multiple geographic areas—including branch offices and at-home workers—enterprises undoubtedly have more demanding provisioning needs. The cloud enables you to reduce provisioning time from weeks to no more than a day or two.
Enhanced BYOD/remote worker support: The bring your own device (BYOD) and enterprise mobility market is slated to reach about $181 billion by 2017. The enterprise usually boasts more mobile workers, corridor warriors and employees who frequently travel, and the cloud enables them to be constantly connected and working to get the complete “in-office” experience.
