Twente Region

As part of the project Twente Region started investigating a telephony solution that could be used throughout the local authorities. Twente Region decided to explore the idea of a joint venture with the local authority Hof van Twente and jointly they compiled a specification of requirements.

“The most important requirement we came up with was supplier reliability. It was our aim to work with an organization that would be able to work with us, not only now, but in the future as well,” said K.C. Eldering, ICT Team Leader.

“We also wanted future-proof technology so IP telephony was the obvious choice. Furthermore, we required a scalable solution in the event of other local authorities wanting to join in so we could then expand without difficulty. Of course, the solution would have to satisfy all our requirements in terms of functionality. Eventually we selected a Mitel® IP solution because it satisfied our specification of needs and requirements. There’s a good balance between cost and quality. Mitel offers a stable platform that is scalable, reliable, has plenty of functionality, and is highly regarded in the marketplace.”
