"This agreement with IBM will enable our companies and our customers to benefit from the innovation and creativity that is embodied in our respective patents and inventions," said Christian Szpilfogel, head of Mitel's Intellectual Property Licensing. "We believe in taking a collaborative yet proactive approach to protecting our intellectual property."

 Specific terms of the agreement will not be disclosed.

Mitel and IBM maintain active patent and technology licensing programs that offer licensing arrangements to companies interested in their respective portfolios.
