In 2008, Amstelland Hospital drew up a Schedule of Requirements for three elements of its communication infrastructure: telephony, a WLAN and localisation. A combination of components from multiple providers was selected to ensure a best of breed solution that could integrate seamlessly with the hospital’s incumbent fixed network equipment: IP telephony from Mitel®; Wifi handsets and care system from Ascom; and a WLAN from Trapeze Networks.
