Duplicate the Active Configuration

You can use this procedure to duplicate the active configuration so you can make offline changes without affecting NuPoint services.

Note: This duplicated configuration contains all information that was in effect at the time the copy was made. When you activate, your new configuration will consist of this version of the current configuration along with any offline changes you make. If you realize, after making the copy, that you need to make some online changes as well, then ensure that you make these changes to the INACTIVE configuration. This way, your online changes will be maintained in the copied version at activation time.

To duplicate the active configuration:

  1. From the Main Menu, select (S) System Maintenance, (R) Reconfiguration, (R) Reconfigure System, and then (G) Offline Menu.

  2. In the Offline menu, select (B) Duplicate Active Configuration. The server copies the active configuration and re-displays offline menu choices. At this point, the inactive configuration (copy) is the same as the active configuration.

  3. Make any required configuration changes.

Note: Now, all entries that you make affect only the copy and will take effect only after you activate the inactive configuration.
