Before running the Client Installation
Before running the client installation, read and adhere to the following notes:
- Verify the hardware and software requirements for running MiContact Center BusinessMiVoice Analytics on client computers, as detailed in the MiContact Center Business System Engineering GuideMiContact Center Business and MiVoice Analytics System Engineering Guide.
- To view reports, Microsoft Excel 2010+ or greater is required on all client computers. As a minimum, you may install Microsoft Excel Viewer, but clients will be unable to take advantage of distributing reports for printing. You can download Excel Viewer for free from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/default.aspx.
Note:Protected View is a Microsoft Office security feature that can impact the ability to view Excel reports in MiContact Center BusinessMiVoice Analytics. If you use Excel 2010 to view reports, configure the following in Excel:
- Ensure the following Protected View options are not enabled:
- Enable Protected View for files originating from the Internet
- Enable Protected View for files located in potentially unsafe locations
- Enable Protected View for Outlook attachments
- Enable Data Execution Prevention mode
- Ensure that the following Trusted Location option is selected:
- Allow Trusted Locations on my network (not recommended)
- Ensure the following Protected View options are not enabled:
- Some group policy settings can disrupt the installation and upgrading process for client computers. We recommend all clients be configured with Local Administrators permission to install the Client Component Pack.
- Ensure antivirus software is disabled before installing the Client Component Pack.
- During testing, it was observed that running Windows Defender Full Scan can consume 80 to 90% of CPU usage, which will have negative performance impacts on the MiContact Center Business server operations. We recommend running a full scan during off-peak business hours.
