Media Server Standalone (not forced gateway)

The following table shows the IOPS and network performance when the Media Server is placed in a separate instance, not in the Service Node instance. The values in the table indicate only the disk IOPS and network bandwidth overhead for the SIP signaling related traffic transit in the Media Server alone.

The values do not consider the RTP/SRTP media bandwidth on the IP network, which must be added to the IOPS and signaling bandwidth shown in the following table. The additional bandwidth needed range from 8K to 80K Kbps of bandwidth per RTP session, depending on the codecs used.
