To select a new language for a DTS/IP telephone terminal, the user must dial the following procedure:

*FC*L#

FC is the function code for Choice of language and L is a number between 0 and 9, where each number represents a unique language.

The Choice of language procedure from an extension must be invoked when the telephone is idle or when the user is receiving dial tone.

After dialling the procedure from an extension, the user will get a confirmation tone (stated by a market dependent parameter) and a message in the selected language will inform that the procedure was successfully executed. If the procedure is rejected, the user will get a failure tone (stated by a market dependent parameter) and a no progress message in the original language will be displayed.
