General

This document contains the operational directions for the Dial by name feature.

This feature allows users, with DBC 203/213/ and DBC 223 and DBC 225 telephones, to get the telephone number from the Dial-By-Name database by typing the name on the DTS keypad conforming to the ITU-T specifications.

The searched number, with the name and the auxiliary information, if any, is displayed on the DTS. Once the searched name and its additional information are displayed, a call can be initiated by pressing a soft-key, or the user can scroll up or scroll down through the stored names of the Dial by name data base.

This feature is handled by soft-keys.

Names are entered by command name -i, with the number and, optionally, the auxiliary information. Entered names are alphabetically arranged in the Dial by name data base each time a new name is entered.

Command name -e is used to delete names from the Dial by name data base.

Command name -p shows the names, numbers, type of data base number and auxiliary information of the users stored in the Dial by name data base.
