Checklist
This section gives a summary of
all the required planning activities described in the previous sections.
It can be used as a checklist when planning how to install MX-ONE
and integrate it with the existing IS/IT infrastructure.
- Is
Site Planning completed regarding the following:
- Required space
- Power supply
- Cooling
- Has the estimated downtime been taken into account if migrating from an MD110/TSW to an MX-ONE system?
- Are the following traffic statistics collected:
- Maximum call attempts during busy hours
- Maximum number of users
- If an SLA with a network operator exists, have the following
issues been addressed in the agreement?
- Maximum Delay
- Packet Loss
- Availability
- Required Bandwidth
- Has a planning of the system database (Cassandra) been done?
- Consider redundancy and capacity requirements
- Consider geographical requirements
- System database deployment model decided
- Has a network assessment been performed in regard to the following?
- Switched LAN
- Filtration
- Firewalls
- VLAN
- Used IP protocols (IPv4, IPv6, or both?)
- Has a delay analysis been performed?
- Maximum delay is 50 - 100 ms depending on the system size
- Maximum packet loss is 2%
- Jitter must not exceed 20 ms
- Have the required bandwidth needs been analyzed, including identification
of any critical links regarding:
- WAN
- Inter-MX-ONE Service Node traffic
- Is there a valid number plan in place?
- Have the security requirements been fulfilled? See the user guide for SECURITY GUIDELINES.
- Has the network environment been planned in regards to the following:
- DNS (IPv4)
- NDP (IPv6)
- DHCP (IPv4)
- ICMPv6
- Multicast
- Is there a plan for how to set up user and system administration
in regard to:
- Remote access
- Is any type of redundancy to be used?
