Welcome to the Configuration Assistant
The configuration assistant helps you to configure a communication system in sequence, from scratch. Follow the entries one by one from top to bottom.
To close the Configuration assistant, click the Home hyperlink at the top and then the activated Configuration assistant checkbox.
Operator prompting
When you click an entry, the upper half of the screen displays the configuration overview; the right-hand side contains notes and instructions about the step you have selected. For further assistance open the WebAdmin online help of the active view, by clicking the Online help link on the upper right side.
The default settings have been selected so that you reach your objective with as few adjustments as possible. The Assistant only guides you to settings that need to be adjusted in most cases.
To accept the changes, click the Apply button. Your changes are saved.
To reject the changes, click the Undo button.
You can only display either the Assistant or the online help. If you have displayed the Assistant, you can open the online help in a browser window by clicking the Online help hyperlink at the top of the screen view.
Preparations
Before you start the first configuration assistant phase, take the following preparatory steps:
Purchase some licences and provide some information
Purchase the licences required for the mode of operation you want or start by using the licence file supplied. You will also need the following information:
The latest licence file for the communication server.
The most up-to-date licence files for OIP
The intended IP address of the communication server, subnet mask and the IP address of the default gateway, provided you want static addressing for the communication server (recommended).
The configuration layout and the slot assignment generated with the Mitel CPQ planning tool.
Update the communication server to the latest version.
Your communication server may not be delivered with the latest software version (storage). Therefore, download the latest software version and update the communication server. For this open the Maintenance / System software view and follow the instructions in the online help.
