Phone book

The phone book contains public contacts and can be used by all system users with dialling by name and/or DDI.

Parameter	Explanation
Call number	The abbreviated dialing number of the public contact. It is defined in the internal numbering plan.
Stored call number	You can enter the following numbers: Internal call numbers External call numbers: Entry with exchange access prefix. Add a hyphen between the exchange access prefix and the call number so that the abbreviated dialling number can also be used on key telephones (example: 0-0775115617). An external number can also be entered in full canonical format (example: +41775115617). Codes for system functions. The front portion of a call number (example: A provider’s access code for pre-selection dialing).
Name	Name and first name of the contact.
Exchange-to-exchange connection	Exchange-to-exchange connections are generally allowed for this abbreviated-dialling number, without limitation. The setting has priority over the system-wide and user-specific setting for limiting exchange-to-exchange connection. The stored abbreviated-dialling number must not be complete so that numbers can be suffix-dialled manually. This allows, for instance, exchange-to-exchange connection with a single abbreviated-dialling number to be released for an entire branch office.

Creating and editing a public contact

To create a new contact, click the New button and follow the input prompts.
To edit a contact’s properties, click on the corresponding abbreviated dialling number.

Deleting one or more public contacts

Click the Delete button.

Check boxes are displayed in the left-hand side of the table.
Check the boxes of the contacts you want to delete, and click the Delete button once again.

Tip:

To select or deselect all the contacts, click the check box in the table title.

Exporting and importing public contacts

The public phonebook part of the Excel export file (Spreadsheet Abbreviated dialling list) and can also be edited externally. For more details please refer to Importing and Exporting Configuration Data.
