PISN users

Here you can open and manage external users and users of another PINX, which you wish to integrate into the internal numbering plan.

PISN users are users who belong to the same private network but are connected to a different PINX. PINX consists of several communication servers which are interconnected to form a private network (PISN).

Virtual PISN users are external subscribers who have been integrated into the internal numbering plan. These may be individual users or users of another PINX on the same PISN.

Table 1. PISN settings

Parameter

Remarks

Maximum number of transit PINXs

If in its function as a PINX this communication system forwards a call to another PINX, it assumes a transit function and is then the transit PINX for this call.

You can limit here the maximum number of transit PINXs for a call. If a call already has passed the number of transit PINX entered here, the call is rejected.

Transit route

Calls passed by this communication system as transit PINX are routed via the route indicated here.

Table 2. PISN users

Parameter

Remarks

Call number

PSTN call numbers (input in the internal numbering plan)

Name

PISN name (for choosing the PISN user name)

Route

The route uses the trunk group allocation to determine which network interface is used to route an outgoing call.

External call number

The external call number of a virtual PISN user. Leave the field empty if it is not all about a virtual PISN user.

CLIP selection

Normal: The PISN call number is used as CLIP. If the PISN user is linked to a direct dialling number, the direct dialling number is displayed.

CLIP from user: A CLIP is formed in the same ways as for a call to the public network. This means that a permanently defined CLIP number can also be transmitted in the private network.

Fax device

If the PISN user is using a fax device, select the type of connection here.

No fax device: Terminal is not a fax device. Voice connection is established.

Fax device (T.38): Fax device without voice and voice mail system. For connections via IP a T.38 connection is set up whenever possible.

Combo device (voice/T.38): Fax device with voice and/or voice mail system. A voice connection is established first. When transmitting fax data, it is best to switch over to a T.38 connection whenever possible in the case of connections over IP.

Fax over VoIP (G.711): Transmitting fax data as voice data on the IP network. The G.711 protocol is always used.

Suppress immediate CFNR

If Deflect is active, the calls are always deflected only after the delay time defined for the entire system even if the feature Direct forwarding (Immediate CFNR) is activated.

Opening PISN users

To open PISN users, click the New button and choose one of the following variants:

  • To open an individual PISN user, enter at least the PISN user's call number and name.

  • To open several PISN users, tick the checkbox Open user block and enter the first and last call numbers of the block.

  • To open several PISN users under one PISN user, use Placehoder 'x'. You can obtain more information about this in the next section.

You can also create PISN users in the numbering plan.

Opening a number block with placeholder

You wish to open, under one PISN user, an entire PISN user area with the same properties, for instance all internal users of another PINX.

You can open an interconnected number block with a single input, by using the letter 'x' as placeholder. The total number of characters determines the call number length. Example: 36xx comprises Number blocks 3600 to 3699.

You can define some exceptions inside the number blocks, by opening other numbers with other properties. This may also be other number blocks with placeholders. In the example below the big number block 36xx is broken by two other, smaller number blocks and two individual numbers. In the example the route has been used as representative of a typical PISN user property.

Exporting/importing PISN users

You can also import or export PISN users via the import /export function. Note that during import the already configured PISN users are deleted as first step. More information about the import/export function is contained in the online help in Overview.
