Putting an IP system phones into operation

You want to set up the IP system phones for operation on a single communication server or for AIN operation on the Master.

Standard procedure

Use the standard procedure if all phones are on the same subnet and IP addressing is managed via DHCP/DNS.

  1. Open the IP system phones and assign each of them a user.

  2. Connect the IP system phones to the IP network.

If your IP system phones are not powered via the IP network connection, you will also need to connect a power supply unit compatible with the phone (available from your sales partner).

If the IP system phones are already connected, disconnect them briefly from the power supply to force a restart and restore connection with the satellite.

The prompt appears on the phone's display. Enter registration code:

  3. Enter the registration code and confirm the input with OK or Accept.

Once a registration code is entered, the corresponding IP system phone registers on the communication server with its MAC address and is connected with the relevant terminal data. If necessary, the communication server updates the software on the IP system phone and restarts it.

The phones are now ready for use. If the phone is disconnected from the IP network or from the power supply or if a restart is carried out, it automatically logs on to the communication server correctly.

Extended procedure

Use the extended implementation procedure if another address method than the DHCP/DNS addressing should be used.

  1. Open the IP system phones on the single system or the master and assign it to the users.

  2. Address the IP system phones as described under "Addressing methods".

  3. Register the IP system phones on the communication server as described under "Registering IP system phones on the communication server".
