Registering IP system phones
IP system phones are registered on the communication server via their MAC address.
Registering on the single system or on the Master
Use the following standard procedure if all phones are on the same subnet and IP addressing is managed via DHCP/DNS.
Use the extended implementation procedure as described in the focus topics under "IP system phones in focus", if another address methods than the DHCP/DNS addressing should be used.
Open the IP system phones and assign each of them a user.
Connect the IP system phones to the IP network.
If your IP system phones are not powered via the IP network connection, you will also need to connect a power supply unit compatible with the phone (available from your sales partner).
If the IP system phones are already connected, disconnect them briefly from the power supply to force a restart and restore connection with the satellite.
The prompt appears on the phone's display. Enter registration code:
Enter the registration code and confirm the input with OK or Accept.
Once a registration code is entered, the corresponding IP system phone registers on the communication server with its MAC address and is connected with the relevant terminal data. If necessary, the communication server updates the software on the IP system phone and restarts it.
The phones are now ready for use. If the phone is disconnected from the IP network or from the power supply or if a restart is carried out, it automatically logs on to the communication server correctly.
Registering for satellite offline operation mode
You wish to also use IP system phones in an AIN in satellite offline operation mode. For this, you must register the phones both on the master and on the satellite (see also "Satellite in Offline Mode"). To do so proceed as follows:
Set the satellite to offline operation mode.
Open the IP system phones in both the Master and the satellite. Assign them a user each.
Start the satellite in offline mode by disconnecting the Master from the IP network.
The satellite restarts and starts up in offline operation mode.
You can now register the phone with the satellite. For this follow the above instructions as from Step 2.
Disconnect the IP system phones on the satellites you have just set up from the IP network again.
End the satellite offline operation mode by reconnecting the master to the IP network.
The satellite restarts and starts up in AIN operation mode.
Register the phone now with the master. For this follow the above instructions as from Step 2.
The phones try to log on to the satellite. The satellite forwards the request to the master.
Cancelling a registration
To remove an already registered IP system phone, delete the MAC address.
Enhancing an IP system phone with expansion key modules
To enhance an IP system phone with expansion key modules, proceed as follows:
Connect the expansion key module or modules to the system phone.
Press any configurable key for at least 2 seconds.
The communication server detects the newly expansion key modules and you can configure the keys using WebAdmin.
