Registering IP system phones on the communication server
During the registration process the IP system phone MAC address is entered in the configuration set of the phone and the communication server sets up a data link to the phone, in order to update the device software and transmit the configuration data.
You can either enter the MAC addresses manually (setting MAC address)or register the IP system phones with the aid of the system using the following method:
Check that all IP system phones are opened and their users assigned (setting Assigned user/pool).
Check whether a registration code is entered for all IP system phones and, if necessary, complete it (setting Registration code).
The IP system phone finds its configuration set via the registration code. It must be clear for each IP system phone. The call number of the assigned user is entered as standard.
Connect the IP system phones to the IP network or restart the phones if they are already connected to the IP network.
Once the connection to the communication server has been set up, the display on the phones show the prompt: Enter registration code:
Enter the appropriate registration code on all the phones one after the other and confirm the input with OK or Accept.
After the registration code is entered, the IP system phone logs on to the single system/master with its MAC address and is linked with its communication set.
The Master checks the version of the phone’s application software. If the software stored on the communication server is more recent than that loaded on the phone, the Master updates the software and restarts the phone. This is indicated on the phone’s display.
The phone is now fully operational. If it is disconnected from the IP network or from the power supply or if a restart is carried out, it automatically logs on again to the node server correctly "Operation and maintenance".
- To clear any incorrect phone allocations to the terminal data, delete the MAC address (setting MAC address).
- At the moment, the Remove fox key menu does not have any function.
