Registering standard SIP phones
The registration of standard SIP phones on the communication server is used for SIP phones from third-party manufacturers, for instance line-based desk phones, softphones as application on a PC or SIP-based WLAN and DECT phones. Mitel 9000 SIP phones are also registered as standard SIP phones.
Registering phones
Check whether a free SIP Terminals licence is available.
Open a standard SIP phone.
Assign the phone a user with the
button.Fill out the other settings as required and click the Apply button.
The SIP user name and SIP password parameters are automatically filled out. These can be adjusted if necessary, but ensure that the inputs are unique when doing so.
Configure the address and registration in the SIP phone. Bear in mind that the designation of the parameters differs, depending on the terminal:
Proxy/registrar:
For static addressing, enter the IP address; for dynamic addressing, enter the host name. Also enter the subnet mask and gateway address.
Account/user/user name:
Transfer from WebAdmin the content of the parameter SIP user name.
Password:
Transfer from WebAdmin the content of the parameter SIP password.
Connect the phone to the IP network and restart it.
The phone connects to the configuration server. After successful registration, the Status changes to Registered.
