Remote access
Remote maintenance access allows access to the system from a remote location, e.g. via an exchange line. You can enable or restrict the remote maintenance access here.
The remote maintenance access allows an administrator to access the communication server with the WebAdmin configuration tool.
You can enable remote maintenance access as a matter of principle or for a one-off access only. Access to the communication server with the WebAdmin is not affected by the status of the remote maintenance access.
If the remote maintenance access is open, anyone with knowledge of the password can access the system configuration and potentially cause damage. So always open the remote maintenance access at times agreed beforehand with your system administrator.
