Summary (users, terminals and DDIs)

An summary of opened direct dialling numbers and their connection to internal destinations can be found here. If the communication server is to be completely reset, then it is highly recommended to set up the direct dialling numbers and users here. An import/export function is also available, to enable you create the basic data in a spreadsheet.

Default routing

All calls where no specific routing has been defined are routed to the destination specified here.

Destination

Explanation

User

The call is routed to a single user (this can be an internal user, guest room or another user type).

The desired user is specified by selecting their call number from the list box on the right-hand side. If the desired user is not available, then it must first be opened in the Configuration / User / User list view.

User group

The call is routed to a user group, where it is distributed.

Select the desired user group from the list box on the right-hand side. The members of the user group are configured in the Routing view.

Operator

Operator console: The call is routed to the operator queue and is offered to all connected operator consoles and operator applications.

Further informations:

  • The selection of the destination defines the destinations for all three switch positions.

  • If different destinations have already been defined for the three switch positions, then only the destination of switch position 1 is displayed.

  • If different destinations have already been defined for the three switch positions and the destination is changed here, then the destinations of all switch positions are changed.

  • If a different destination to those that can be selected here (user, user group or operator) is defined for switch position 1, then this destination is displayed instead of the list box with a hyperlink to the configuration of the direct dialling number.

DDI to users

This section lists all of the direct dialling numbers that are directly connected to a user.

User’s direct dialling number. The numbers in brackets indicate the connected trunk groups. If the user is connected to an analogue exchange line circuit, then the trunk group name is displayed.

The direct dialling configuration is accessed by clicking the direct dialling number.

The trunk group configuration is accessed by clicking on the name of an analogue trunk group.

Call number

Call number of the linked user.

The user configuration is accessed by clicking the call number.

User name

Name of the linked user

The name can be edited here directly.

E-mail address

E-mail address of the linked user.

The e-mail address can be edited here directly.

Terminals

User phones and terminals.

  • The direct dialling number then appears in this section when the User destination is defined for switch position 1.

  • Direct dialling numbers with multiple destinations are listed under Additional DDIs, even when one of the destinations is a user.

DDI to user groups

This section lists all of the direct dialling numbers that are connected to a user group.

The configuration of this user group is accessed by clicking on an identification number.

User group name

Name of the of the linked user group.

DDI to operator consoles

This section lists all of the direct dialling numbers that are connected to the operator queue.

KT + UG

The call is routed simultaneously to a KT line and to a user group.

User + UG, busy

The call is routed simultaneously to a single user and to a user group.

If one of the destinations is busy, the caller obtains the busy tone and the call is not offered to the second destination either.

User + KT, busy

The call is routed simultaneously to a single user and to a KT line.

If one of the destinations is busy, the caller obtains the busy tone and the call is not offered to the second destination either.

Users without DDI

This section lists all of the users that are not connected to a DDI and thus cannot be reached directly from the outside.

Export and import function

You can import and export the following user data into a spreadsheet with the import and export function in this view:

  • User-specific data: Internal call number, user name, Windows user name, e-mail address and permission set.

  • Terminal-specific data: terminal type, port, mobile/external call number (if the assigned phone is a mobile/external phone) and MMCC ID (if the assigned phone is an MMC client).

  • DDI(s)

  • Exchange connection

The data is arranged in lines on the spreadsheet. The entire data on a line is related to the internal call number of this line (the internal call number is the key item*).

Initial configuration

The incoming routing and users are to be completely reset.

This can be made in this view without the need for switching between the specific views for the direct dialling numbers, users, user groups etc. To do so proceed as follows:

  1. Click on the Delete all button to delete all direct dialling numbers, users, connected call distribution elements and terminal associations.

  2. In the DDI to users section, set up all user DDIs and create the users at the same time. For this, click the New button and proceed as described in the instructions "DDI to users".

  3. In the DDI to user groups section, set up the DDIs for the user groups. For this, proceed as described in the instructions "DDI to user groups".

  4. In the DDI to operator section, set up the DDIs for the operator consoles. For this, proceed as described in the instructions "DDI to operator".

  5. Using standard routing, set up where calls that are not received through a direct dialling number should be routed to. For this, proceed as described in the instructions "Default routing".

Add new DDI or MSN and associated users

  1. Click the New button.

  2. The Add new DDI or MSN and associated users overlay view is opened.

  3. Specify how the users and direct dialling numbers should be opened. Fill in the details completely. For information on the input fields see the table below.

  4. Click the Apply button.

  5. The direct dialling numbers and users are opened according to the entries made.

Specify whether only users or users with corresponding direct dialling numbers should be opened.

Create user block

Select this option if multiple users with consecutive direct dialling numbers should be opened.

Select this option if only one single user should be opened.

Define internal call number separatly

Select this option if the internal call numbers should be assigned separately from the direct dialling numbers.

Select this option if the internal call numbers should be derived from the direct dialling numbers.

Digits to remove

Enter here how many less digits the internal call numbers have compared to the direct dialling numbers.

User name

Name of the user.

If a user block should be opened, then this input field is blocked.

E-mail address

E-mail address of the user

If a user block should be opened, then this input field is blocked.

Create and allocate voice mail box(es)

A voice mailbox is created and assigned for each newly opened user.

Permission set

Select the permission set to be assigned to the newly opened users here.

Assign terminal

Each newly opened user is assigned a phone according to their dialling.

BluStar softphone

Each newly opened user is assigned a BluStar softphone.

Check format of incoming calls

You wish to check how the call numbers of incoming calls are formatted, in order to correctly configure DDI/MSN:

In the Overlay view Add new DDI or MSN and associated users, you will find the Check format of incoming calls button:

  1. In the Overlay view Add new DDI or MSN and associated users, click the Check format of incoming calls button:

    Another overlay view is opened.

  2. Follow the instructions and click the Show call details button.

    The call details are displayed.

  3. Use displayed destination number for DDI/MSN configuration.

    If necessary, you can automatically and directly update the trunk group's CLIP settings with the displayed call details. For this, click Update CLIP settings of trunk group automatically.

Opening individual DDIs

  1. Click on the Add icon in the first column at the end of the list.

    A selection field for the exchange line circuit type and an editing field for the direct dialling number are displayed.

  2. Select the exchange line circuit type and enter a direct dialling number that has not yet been assigned.

  3. Enter the call number of the new user or ID of a user group (this point can be skipped when setting up a DDI for the operator).

  4. Edit the other fields as required.

  5. Click on the Apply icon in the final column.

    The new direct dialling number is opened.

Deleting a DDI

To delete a DDI, click on the del00279.gif Delete icon in the final column.

Setting up the default routing

To specify a destination for standard routing, select the desired destination from the list box and click on the Apply button. In doing so, pay attention to the notes above in the section "Default routing".
