Configuring Unify Phone Devices for Users

Each user can be assigned one Unify Phone device that functions as a prime or additional phone.

Before configuring a device, ensure prerequisites are met.

Prerequisites:
  • The user’s profile must include first name and last name.
  • Teleworker service must be enabled for the account.
Note:
  • Assigning a Unify Phone to a user automatically allocates a Unify license to that user. There’s no need to assign the license beforehand.
  • SIP capabilities are fixed at 87 and can’t be modified.
To configure a Unify Phone device for a user:
  1. In the Admin Portal, go to User Management > Users and select a user.
  2. Open the user’s Device Configuration section.
  3. In the Device Category list, select Desk Phone.
  4. In the Device Type drop-down list, select Unify Phone (last option).
  5. Confirm the following values:
    • SIP Capabilities: 87 (pre-set).
    • Teleworker Service: Enabled by default.
    • SIP Username and Password: Enter authentication credentials.
  6. Click Save to apply the configuration.
