Face-to-Face, Future Ready: Reflections from the Mitel APAC META Partner Congregation 2026

In October, more than 180 of us came together at Le Méridien Putrajaya in Malaysia for the Mitel APAC META Partner Congregation 2026 — and days later, I am still carrying the energy of that room.

Over three days, partner and sponsor delegates from more than 80 companies joined Mitel leaders from our global and regional teams. Together we represented over 25 countries — from Ghana to Japan, from Türkiye to Indonesia — with ASEAN out in force and strong contingents from the Middle East and Africa, India, Türkiye and North Africa, and China. One community, one room.

Our goal was simple, and a little audacious: bring our APAC and META partner community truly face-to-face with Mitel’s global leadership. Not over a video call. Not in a slide deck. In person — with time to talk, to challenge, and to plan together.

Three messages our partners took home

If there is one thing I hope every partner heard clearly, it is this: Mitel is committed to the channel. Our partners are how we reach customers across this region, and our strategy is built around their success.

That commitment shaped the agenda. Marco Landi, Group VP of International Sales, opened with Mitel’s global strategy. Martin Bitzinger, EVP of PLM and Product Marketing, then took us through the portfolio with Mitel WX in focus. WX is now the focal point of our portfolio, and partners left with a clear view of where it fits and why it matters to their customers.

From there, we showed what that portfolio can do. Luc Van Den Abeele brought Workflow Studio to life with a live demonstration of automation in action. Rachit Trivedi, Senior Director of our India CoE and R&D Operations, shared the way forward for Mitel CX and the regional capabilities we have built to support it. Partners also saw live demos of Mitel WX, Mitel CX and Mitel Xpert V9.

Taken together, the message was consistent: a committed channel, WX at the centre, and real opportunities for partners to grow beyond infrastructure.

The questions partners didn’t hold back on

In the weeks before the event, questions poured into our event portal — dozens of them, submitted by partners across the region. So when Marco Landi, Martin Bitzinger and Mark Duff joined me on stage for the Leadership Panel, the agenda was not ours; it was our partners’. AI dominated the conversation — above all, AI that can run on-premises for customers in regulated industries — alongside the road ahead for the portfolio, the cloud landscape, and hospitality. The exchange was direct, honest, and better for it.

Opportunities untouched

Some of the sharpest thinking came from the stage our partners owned. In a panel moderated by Rahul Kulkarni, partner leaders from Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Kenya, Kuwait, and beyond explored the opportunities that sit beyond the infrastructure business — services, customer experience, and vertical solutions built on everything we have already deployed together.

Face time, taken literally

We also did something simple that proved to be one of the most valued parts of the event: we opened one-to-one sessions with our global executives, bookable by partners directly. Every single slot was claimed almost as soon as it was offered — breakfasts, afternoon sessions, and a dedicated leaders’ morning to close the event. That demand says everything about what this community wants: access, candour, and partnership.

And in between — a welcome dinner that felt like a reunion, a gala night where we celebrated our award winners, and a hundred conversations in the hallways that no agenda could have planned.

My thanks go to every partner who made the journey, and to our sponsors — iLanz, ASC Technologies, CETIS and TigerTMS — who helped make it possible. Events like this are only ever as good as the people in the room, and this room was exceptional.

The conversations we started in Putrajaya do not end there. Our teams are already following up on every one of them — and so am I. Here’s to what we build together next.
