Welcome to a special edition of our regular roundup of Mitel news from around the globe, where we take a look back at the most notable media mentions from the past 12 months.

As our CEO mentioned in his year-end wrap-up, 2025 was a pivotal year for Mitel. We completed a successful financial restructuring, announced a new board, and welcomed Mike Robinson as CEO. On the product front, we delivered on our partnership with Zoom, and just weeks later, announced the general availability of Mitel CX. We also announced the release of Workflow Studio and plans to move phone production to Germany.

Of course, our leaders were once again eager to provide their thoughts and options on the rapidly changing technology landscape. From emerging AI trends to the latest cybersecurity strategies, we've covered a wide range of hot topics.

Here are the most notable news stories from Mitel's extensive global coverage in 2025. They are organized chronologically to illustrate how events unfolded from January through December.

In February, Mitel released a report from Techaisle that examined buying trends in business communications. As this article from Computer Weekly highlights, one of the key findings was that 92% of respondents are prioritizing hybrid communications solutions, with a specific focus on security, compliance, and resilience.

This article from UC Today dives deeper into the data from over 1,900 survey respondents and what the numbers say about hybrid adoption. It also examines the perceived benefits of integrated AI-powered tools, particularly in sectors such as manufacturing and hospitality.

If you have bought anything over the past year, you’ve probably encountered AI at some point in the process. Mitel’s SVP of Product Management, Martin Bitzinger, sat down with Telecom Handel to discuss the impact of AI in the contact center and how it enables a better customer experience.

5. Ottawa Business Journal: Sparking change: Mitel partnership marks shift in Kanata-based L-Spark’s trajectory

Last spring, Mitel announced a partnership with L-SPARK on a UC accelerator. As part of a broader story exploring how the program came together and why it’s a model that offers advantages to start-ups and established tech players, Mitel CTO Luiz Domingos shared what intrigued him.

6. Forbes - Future-Proofing The Hybrid Workplace

You may have also spotted a couple of posts from Luiz this year as a member of the Forbes Technology Council. He wrote on two topics: the evolving role of the CTO and this post on how modern communication tools can drive authentic and productive employee engagement in today’s hybrid workplace. As he points out, future-proofing hybrid work begins with making smarter choices that prioritize long-term ROI and embracing AI-enabled collaboration tools to enhance customer service.

7. Safety Detectives: Interview With Bill Dunnion - Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Mitel

Security issues continued to be top of mind in 2025, keeping Mitel’s Chief Information Security Officer, Bill Dunnion, busy. From the benefits of offensive security tactics to emerging threats targeting critical infrastructure, Bill shared his insights on a range of issues. He also found time to sit down with Safety Detectives to discuss his role, the evolving landscape of cybersecurity, and the need for continuous innovation in security practices.

8. Channel Insider: How Channel-Focused Vendors Are Approaching the Rest of 2025

Halfway through the year, Mitel’s channel leader for North America shared his thoughts on the integral relationship between vendors and partners. The interview was timed to coincide with the launch of Mitel’s enhanced partner experience and provided insight into what lay behind the evolution of Mitel’s partner program.

9. Ottawa Business Journal: Q&A: New Mitel CEO Mike Robinson on what financial ‘do-over’ means for telecom giant

Within days of being named CEO, Mike Robinson visited Mitel’s HQ in Ottawa. While in town, he sat down with David Sali from the Ottawa Business Journal for his first interview in the role. They discussed Mike’s immediate priorities, his vision for the company, and why businesses need to be constantly aware of the rapid pace of change in the world around us.

10. No Jitter: New Mitel CEO: It’s Time For Us to Listen and Engage

Shortly after, Mike also took time to speak with No Jitter’s Matt Vartabedian. They talked about his initial experiences in the role and the importance of listening to and engaging with customers, partners, and employees. He also shared his perspective on Mitel’s position in the changing UC marketplace and revealed where his loyalty lies regarding college basketball. 

11. The AI Journal: AI and the Future of Business Communication

In an article for The AI Journal, Mitel’s CTO discusses how artificial intelligence is revolutionizing business communication. He highlights the benefits and obstacles associated with this transformation, along with its effects on organizational operations and connections.

12. Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung: „Made in Germany“ statt „Made in China“**

In October, Mitel announced that its phones will be manufactured in Germany, enhancing supply chain resilience, improving delivery times for European customers, and maintaining high engineering standards. This article from Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung explored how it aligns with manufacturing trends and the importance of advanced automation.

13. UC Today: Hybrid UC: Mitel’s Strategy for Evolution, Not Revolution in the AI Era

Mitel's Mark Duff spoke with UC Today's Christopher Carey about Mitel's focus on gradual evolution in unified communications (UC) rather than disruptive changes. They also explored how Mitel is incorporating AI into its frameworks to maintain a seamless user experience.

14. Telecom Reseller - From Whiteboard to Workflow: The Year Enterprise AI Grew Up - Telecom Reseller / Technology Reseller News

As we approached a new year, Mitel leaders also offered some predictions and reflections. As our CMO, Eric Hanson, wrote in this article for Telecom Reseller, 2025 marked a turning point for AI. We saw a shift from ideation and early enterprise implementation to mainstream adoption. Of course, the market continues to move, and enterprises are leveraging hybrid architectures to make AI scalable, compliant, and customer-ready.

15. Solutions Review - AI and Enterprise Technology Predictions from Industry Experts for 2026

Mitel’s Senior Vice President, Product Management, Martin Bitzinger, was happy to offer a few predictions in this post from Solutions Review. Specifically, he looked at why flexibility and control will drive IT decision-making in 2026, especially when it comes to communications solutions.
