I’ve been spending a lot of time lately thinking about conversations. As the new CEO of a business communications and collaboration technology leader, that feels fitting.
Not just the conversations we enable through our platforms, but the ones I’ve been having face-to-face over the past few months.
Since joining as CEO in September, I've been on the road as much as possible, sitting down with teams across our offices, getting to know our partners, and spending time with customers who've been with Mitel for years. I'm genuinely curious about what people are seeing, what's working, what's not, and where opportunities are hiding in plain sight.
These conversations are the best part of this job.
What strikes me is the level of care people bring to this work. Whether it's an engineer in Ottawa orchestrating a complex deployment, a partner in Germany helping a hospital modernize their communications, or a customer success manager making sure a manufacturing client stays up and running 24/7, there's real dedication here. People care about getting it right because they know what's at stake for the organizations depending on us.
And those organizations are running some of the most critical operations in our communities, like hospitals, government agencies, manufacturers, financial institutions, hospitality, and emergency services. When their communications go down, the impact is real. That responsibility is something everyone at Mitel takes seriously, and the criticality of our work is one of the things that made it easy to say yes when I was asked to serve in this role as Mitel’s leader.
What We're Building Toward
This year was a pivotal year for Mitel. Coming out of our financial restructuring in June gave us a fresh start, including new owners and a new board to allow us to focus on what matters most: serving our customers even better and investing in the future. Our YTD results show we're making good progress, tracking ahead of where we planned to be.
But in my mind, the other important story is about how we're evolving to meet customers where they are. For too long, regulated industries have been told they can’t have both security and innovation.
We're showing them they don't have to choose. Whether it's through Mitel CX, Workflow Studio, Mitel Secure Cloud, or our partnership with Zoom, we're proving that “secure” and “innovative” can go hand in hand.
One area where we see huge potential is with frontline workers like the folks on hospital floors, in warehouses, and on factory lines. These are the people actually doing the work that keeps everything moving, and they deserve communications devices and solutions that are fit for purpose and genuinely easy to use. Connecting entire workforces with secure, easy to use communications experiences is something we're leaning into even more in 2026.
Looking Ahead
As we map out our plans for 2026 and beyond, we're looking hard at where we're strongest and being honest about where we need to improve. The goal is pretty straightforward: do more of what's working, fix what isn't, and make sure we're set up for sustainable growth.
There's a sense of urgency to all of this, but it's the good kind, the kind that comes from knowing we have a real window of opportunity in front of us. The market is moving toward hybrid communications, and Mitel is in a unique position to excel in this new world of business communications.
I'll continue to be on the road in 2026, and I hope to connect with many of you. It's always valuable to get out of the day-to-day, talk about where the industry is heading, and more importantly, hear what's on people's minds.
A Word of Thanks
The momentum we're building doesn't happen without the people driving it every day. Our employees bring exceptional expertise, but even more importantly, they bring genuine commitment to doing right by our customers. Our partners show up ready to collaborate and grow together. Our customers trust us with communications that are mission-critical to their operations. And our broader ecosystem of analysts, technology partners, and advisors continue to invest their time and energy in our success.
2025 was about strengthening our foundation. 2026 is about growth in target markets and solutions, operating excellence, and making the most of the opportunity in front of us.
We’re just getting started. And I'm looking forward to having the conversations that uncover what we can accomplish together.
