As someone who calls South Florida home, I am all too familiar with emergency preparedness. Major storms that cause flash floods, power outages, and impact airports and roads are all part of the realities of living in the Sunshine State. As Mitel’s CTO, I am also aware of the challenges of ensuring communications continuity and building robust technology systems.
In today’s fast-paced and high-risk digital ecosystem, critical events, such as severe weather events, technology outages, and supply chain disruptions, can halt operations. Effective risk planning and mitigation are essential for responding quickly and efficiently to these challenges.
To help organizations address these challenges, Mitel released its Critical Event Management (CEM) solution. Currently available in several European countries, this all-in-one platform is designed to streamline the management of risks, incidents, and emergencies to enhance resiliency and provide safety for everyone. When used alongside Mitel’s complementary solutions, it significantly enhances the flexibility of critical communications.
While ensuring Mitel CEM delivers when needed for our customers and their employees is our top priority, we were pleased to learn that Mitel has been named a recipient of Frost & Sullivan’s 2025 European Enabling Technology Leadership Award. This recognition is based on a recent assessment of trends and developments in the critical event management communications industry.
This is a notable milestone for Mitel’s mission-critical communication support as we strive to deliver capabilities that address our customers’ most pressing concerns, accelerate their digital transformation, and improve operational efficiency. By reducing time to resolution and enhancing security, safety, and resilience, we help organizations stay connected when it matters most—keeping people safe and businesses running smoothly.
Mission-critical communication is no longer just for emergency response teams; it’s integral to business continuity and operational resilience across all industries. Backed up by a Techaisle survey of nearly 2,000 firms in the US, UK, Germany, and France, it’s clear that organizations are prioritizing solutions that meet regulatory and privacy requirements and adapt to their sectors' unique challenges. Whether responding to a natural disaster, addressing cybersecurity threats, or coordinating emergency services, businesses need reliable systems to safeguard their people and operations.
The industries we serve, such as healthcare, government, education, and transportation, face particularly high stakes, where even seconds of communication failure can have significant consequences. Mitel’s CEM solution provides advanced tools to help organizations confidently navigate and respond to these challenges.
When every second counts, mission-critical communication is non-negotiable. Through our partnership with Everbridge, Mitel has become a true leader in this market. We support essential tools like emergency calling (911 in the US, 112/999 in Europe/UK), command and control solutions through OpenScape Xpert, and emergency notification systems with OpenScape Alarm Response. These capabilities have been deployed across large enterprises and critical infrastructure, from airports and military bases to hospitals and government agencies, ensuring seamless operations during the most demanding situations.
By integrating our unified communications (UC) infrastructure with Everbridge’s CEM capabilities, customers gain a scalable, secure, and comprehensive solution to keep their organization connected when it matters most. Whether facing natural disasters or cyber threats, CEM helps them respond swiftly and effectively.
Key benefits of Mitel’s CEM services include:
Frost and Sullivan’s recognition highlights Mitel’s leadership and innovation in mission-critical solutions and Everbridge’s dedication to upholding the highest technical standards and enabling robust critical event management capabilities. The partnership between Mitel and Everbridge is marked by strong technological synergy and complementary portfolios, allowing us to collaboratively identify vertical-specific use cases and develop solutions tailored to critical emergency requirements. Our agile and flexible approach ensures we consistently deliver best-fit solutions to meet our customers’ needs.
