ARMATS chose Mitel for its new solution based on a hybrid PBX system, which provided the flexibility to support legacy analog infrastructure and modern IP telephony. Mitel’s ability to deliver a comprehensive solution with UC features, audio conferencing, and seamless mobile integration made it the ideal choice. Redinet CJSC was selected to implement the solution due to its track record with corporate telephony projects and technical expertise.
The OpenScape Business X8 system installation supported nearly 100 OpenScape DeskPhone CP710 IP phones, 50 UC clients, and 70 analog phones, along with audio conferencing for up to 16 participants. The new system allowed for internal and external connections via SIP trunks, E1 streams, and analog lines, providing flexibility for different communication needs. Additionally, it introduced a Corporate Auto Attendant feature, streamlining call management.
One of the significant challenges during implementation was configuring multiple internal and external connections across various departments, including locations in different cities. Integrating mobile softphones via 4G/LTE also posed connectivity challenges. These issues were resolved by leveraging class of service (COS) groups and least cost routing (LCR), enabling efficient call permission management and reliable connectivity.
Since deploying the Mitel solution, ARMATS has seen significant improvements in communication quality and efficiency. Voice quality is now consistently clear, and the ability to conduct multi-participant audio conferences has enhanced team collaboration. Staff availability has increased, as the integration with mobile networks ensures team members can stay connected even when away from their desks. The streamlined communication processes have led to quicker response times and better operational performance, ultimately boosting productivity and service quality.
The new system has modernized ARMATS’s communication infrastructure and positioned the organization for future growth. By choosing Mitel’s hybrid PBX system, ARMATS now benefits from improved communication capabilities while maintaining the flexibility to scale and adapt as their needs evolve.
